First Day of 2021

New Year…New resolutions and new hopes to keep those resolutions. Unfortunately, I think I am already starting to fall behind, depending on how you look at it. What is it with new years that make everyone so ambitious? Regardless, here is my list of new year resolutions:

  1. Be Happier: I hope to be less resentful with the world when things don’t go my way.
  2. Be Healthier: I hope to exercise on a regular basis to improve my physical abilities and overall stamina
  3. Be Disciplined: I started this blog in 2017. Over the past two years, I’ve written in it probably a total of 5 or 6 times. I hope this year is different and although I am pretty sure no one is interested in what I have to say, I want to make use of this site more, if only for myself.
  4. Continue to Cook: The pandemic gave me a rare gift of staying home more often than going out. Some might not see this as a gift, but given item number 1 above, I trying to change my attitude. A side benefit of staying home was having a lot more time to try to cook. I hope to continue this to save money and support my second resolution.
  5. Develop new hobbies. Hopefully.
  6. Spend more quality time with family. Yeah, this one might be tough, but better to be ambitious, right?

HM! 6 seems like a lot….oh well….better get started! Happy New Year!!

City of Dreams

2020 has been a stay-at-home, no travel year for us. However, it has prompted us to think about last year. What did we do at the beginning of 2019?

I had the opportunity to visit London at the end of 2018 into the beginning of 2019. Below are some some pictures from London. I know many of them are cliche and are the subjects of many, many tourist photographs, but, I’d still like to share mine. So, indulge me :). We hoped to visit Paris as well, but since it was a last minute destination and lodging was hard to book, we gave up on that particular idea. Hopefully, we’ll have more time to visit in the future.

Alaska is as beautiful as people promised. The land looks clean and untarnished (well, except for a few places inconsiderate tourists threw their trash….what a shame!). It was a wonderful place to visit especially when the rest of the United States is experiencing terrible heat waves. The snow, glaciers, huskies and bears made for an exciting and photo rich adventure.

Faith, Trust and a Little Pixie Dust…

Growing up, this was my one guilty pleasure. My parents would save up to go to Disneyland one day of the year, usually summer. I never tired of it and only love it more and more every time I discovered something new I didn’t know before. Over time, I realized it was fun to go with different people or alone. The magic is everywhere.

Last year I was fortunate enough to celebrate my birthday at Disneyland with some of my closest friends. We endured the scorching sun and defied those who told us there would only be long lines and little enjoyment in an overpriced theme park. Challenge accepted! We had a great time! At the end of the day, we grabbed some drinks on the Cove Bar patio and enjoyed the World of Color show. I am proud to say I took the pictures showcased here a little buzzed, with no flash and no tripod. Sure, they could be better, but I think they’re pretty amazing as is :)!
